I'm looking for a quality but relatively inexpensive megapixel camera for outdoor security monitoring. The 207MW seems to have the best spec for the price. (Alternatives at similar prices are mostly only VGA.) It seems you need to double the price to get an outdoor megapixel from a leading manufacturer. Does anyone make an outdoor housing sutable for the 207MW?

Hello David,

Welcome to the site. The AXIS 207MW is a decent mega pixel camera. You might have a hard time finding an enclosure for that camera especially considering it is wireless and the antenna might not fit.

I checked out AXIS' website and they listed a couple enclosures for the 207. This is the same size as the 207MW but you have the antenna to worry about. You should probably double check with AXIS to see if they can say if the wireless version of the 207 will fit. Judging by the picture, it won't.

The enclosures can be found here http://www.axis.com/products/cam_housing/index_us.htm

Hope that helps!

Thanks Wes. That has helped. I had not noticed the link to the enclosure on the website. Looks suitable for the job. I don't need the wireless function, so I guess I can remove the aerial.

Hey David,

If you remove the aerial, the camera should fit fine. The Axis site even says that the enclosure supports the 207 so I think you are set Smile

Let me know if you need anything else!
