|
|
I just purchased the Axis 207w wireless network cam and I'm having much difficulty setting it up for remote/internet monitoring. I was able to get the cam working wirelessly with my router (Belkin F5D7230-4) and I can get local access over a LAN, but I've struggled for hours to get the port forwarding on the router to work for remote internet access.
Everytime I type in the Axis internet address Axis gave me after I registered, I'm sent directly to my Belkin web page as if I just typed in my router IP #. I've tried following the limited Axis instructions, but I can't seem to get it right. For some reason, I can't get the Axis camera internet address to forward me to the camera.
Are there any pros out there who know how to configure a Belkin router for remote access to an AXIS 207w? The more detail, the better -- I'm not all that technical if you haven't noticed.
Your time is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-P

Hi Pete,
As a support engineer for Milestone, I do things like this on a daily basis. If you like, I'd be happy to lend you a hand.
From the sounds of it, it may be possible that remote administration is enabled on your router on port 80 so that even though you may be correctly forwarding the port, the router is presenting it's own web interface instead of following the port forwarding rule.
I've sent you a PM _________________ Support Engineer
