Hello,

We'd like to come up with a solution for the following scenario:
- a simple camera mounted indoors, recording continuously
- resulting video is saved as files in the camera's storage
- only the latest few minutes should be saved, depending on storage capacity
- the operator can stop recording any time, and retrieve the latest saved file

Is there such a camera?

Thanks and regards
Robert

Solutions DO exist but you may have to forget the simple part.
Panasonic (mine is a WV-NP244) makes cameras which contain an SD memory card. They can hold up to 1GB.
They will record continuously until full. You can erase them manually.
Getting the images off of them requires software that the average user could find cumbersome.
You can Google Panasonic's tech support and ask them if there's an easy way.
Post here if you have success.
Good luck,
