I have a Vivotek IP2112 that i"ve been having problems with updating the

firmware. the camera has the old 101c firmware and I'm trying to update it to

the new 301d. Everytime I try to update it it won't let me and prompts that it's

not the right model, also the camera has been unstable, when I start the

installation wizard, it won't appear on the IP list, I try to enter it manualy

eg:192.168.6.111 sometimes it pormpt me to enter a password and when

entered, it doesn't go anywhere. when I go to a the browser and enter the IP

address, it goes to the camera no problems, but the issue is with the

installation wizard that won't let me flash the bios.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

That is strange. Where did you purchase the camera?

You might want to contact Vivotek regarding this issue considering it sounds like there could be something wrong with the camera that you cannot fix.

You could first try doing a factory reset on the camera. On the back there should be a small hole with a button inside. Get a paperclip and hold down the button inside the hole for around 30 seconds. This should reset the camera to its default settings. See if you still get the connection problems and also try updating the firmware again to see if the reset fixed that.

If that doesn't fix it, your camera could be defective.
