|
|
I've tried for more than 8 hours to get my Axis 2120 to FTP an image to my web site with no luck. I've had it running fine as a webcam for four years and had no trouble with the set-up procedure in the past. The camera stopped transmitting May 1 and did not fix itself with the nightly cable modem reset.
The network includes only a cable modem, the 2120, an Apple AirPort WiFi router, a hub, and a Vonage phone device. My computer is an Apple Powerbook so I can only access the 2120 through the Administrative Tools menus using a factory reset, null modem cable and 192.36.253.80 IP (camera shows menus and image correctly).
Big difference this time is that in the past my ISP (Comcast) has always been able to provide me with the IP address of the 2120 as a "connected computer" but they no longer have this information.
I've tried:
- using the router Public IP address (24.91.203.125), this is also the IP that www.myip.dk gives me.
- using the router 10.0.1.5 IP address (AirPort router is set up to share a single IP address using DHCP and NAT)
- using the IP address provided by the System Profiler when the Mac is connected directly to the cable modem by ethernet cable (76.19.224.165). This is also the IP that Comcast says the modem is currently "assigning".
- using each of the above with a different last digit (ie: 10.0.1.201)
- using port #80
- using port# 7897 with port forwarding set in the router
- using the "installation wizard"
- trying with and without "use DHCP" checked
- bypassing the router
- bypassing the hub
- testing for bad ethernet cables
- using a different remote host domain to receive the image.jpg file
- rebooting the cable modem and router with each try
- trying the above using my backup Axis 2120, with same lack of results
I have also not been able to access the camera over the local network using the router public IP address and port combo. (Note that with the sample IP #'s above, I've used their associated "Subnet Mask" and "Default Router" settings.)
As I'm following the same step-by-step notes that have always worked first time in the past, I'm stumped as to what the problem is other than my guesses at the "connected computer" IP address being wrong.
Any help would be much appreciated though please note I have no access to a Windows machine, do not know any "command line" language, and cannot access the log files.
Thanks

I had to read your post a few times. Every time I got an idea I found out you already tried it
Have you tried doing a factory reset on the router and reconfiguring all the port forwarding?
If you like, you can always send me your Dynamic DNS name and I will try accessing the cameras to see if I can login from here. I'm using a Windows machine. _________________ Administrator
