I have a couple of Axis 2100 cameras that have until now only been used internally, however am trying to use one of them to cover a small outside area.
At night It is lit poorly by sodium streetlamps, but the image quality drops dramatically, any movement appears blurred and i'm getting closer to 3fps than the usual 15 or so.
Is there any way to improve the night performance of these cameras? would an IR light source help?

Hmm, not sure there's much you can do for these cameras outside. They're not that great to begin with.
Anyone else have thoughts? _________________ Ryan

2100's weren't made for outside use and I don't believe you can get IR to work with them. You will need a custom IR lens but I have never seen any that would work with the 2100.
Try looking for something like this one: http://www.4xem.com/products/cameraacc/IPCAMIRLENS/index.html
That specific lens will not work though as it uses the power plug from your camera and AXIS cameras have a small power plug than standard cameras. _________________ Wes
