I was researching an axis 213ptz for my home in fla, (to serve as both a security and webcam), but have now migrated to the idea of several 207w IP cams instead. I'm currently using 2 cctv security cams into 2.4ghz tx/rx links to a cheap 2 channel video server to be viewed remotely. My goal now is to provide up to 4 pov cams in this house, each viewable by anyone on the internet as webcams, as this house is for sale. Several questions arise: Can multiple axis 207w's be used thru a wireless router to the internet? I currently have a dynamic IP, which when it changes by comcast, i get notified by email. Do any of the members here have experience with multiple cam installs? and is this the best cam (bang for the buck) for this type of install /thanks / keith

They are probably fine for what you are doing. You can assign port forwarding in the router pointing a port to a cam address (routerIP:8000 forwards to port 80 on cam1, routerIP:8001 forwards to port 80 on cam2). _________________ Ryan

1) Typical routers can accept over 200 Wi Fi connections in theory, so no need to worry about 4 cameras
2) There is a free service that gives you a static name which automatically updates when your IP address changes. Some routers have this feature built in. See if your router has a DDNS function. See www.dyndns.com and set up a host account for this service.
See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHmLwzh6Dnc for a video on how to set up multiple cameras on a router and how to add a static name to your to internet account.
For an example of this static name in action, see our remote demo at http://www.securicorp.com/remote-cctv-demo.html _________________ Securicorp CCTV

I think there is a limit in number of wireless cameras working together.
Practically bandwidth of WIFI 802.11g is about 13 to 25 Mbit.
So you can put 3-6 cameras with one wireless router depending on FPS and compression.
So I recommend to calculate bandwith before installation _________________ home video surveillance software reviews
