Axis 207W can't connect over internet

I have DSL internet service, so I have a Dynamic IP address. I set up the camera with a static IP that is acceptable by the Linksys WRT54G router. I set up Port Forwarding for Port 80. I set up an account on dyndns.org and set up the DNS notification feature on the Linksys. So everything is set up exactly as it should be. Problem is, I can't access the camera. I tried accessing the domain supplied by dyndns.org and I tried typing in my current dynamic IP and cannot connect. So I think my router is not allowing incoming traffic. I have heard about issues with port 80, so I tried port 8080 and that did not work either. So I tried port 7500, and still nothing. Surely my ISP allows some kind of incoming traffic. Any ideas of what could be wrong?

I assume you have set up the port forwarding to the local IP adress of the camera in your router?

Does the IP adress of the cam fit the subnetmask set up in your router?

If your router eg is 192.168.0.10 and the subnetmask is set to 255.255.255.0 and the camera is 192.168.1.10 the router cannot acces the camera.

Yes, the port forwarding is set to the local IP of the camera.

My router IP is 192.168.1.1

My camera IP is 192.168.1.11

If I type in the camera IP in my web browser, I can access the camera and it's currently in wireless mode (no ethernet cable connected to the camera) so there is communication with the router and the camera. Any other ideas?

I read somewhere that if I change my Modem to Bridge Mode, then this may fix the problem. Because, the public IP is going through to the modem which is trying to decipher what to do with the signal rather than passing it straight to the Router for the decision making of the port forwarding. Has anyone heard of this? Is it something I can do myself, or do I need to call my ISP?

Setup:

DSL
-One computer wired to Linksys WRT54G
-One Axis 207W setup in wireless mode
-Camera has been assigned a static IP address that is recognized by the Router, but not in the DHCP range.
-My DSL services assigns a Dynamic IP for my internet usage
-I set up an account dyndns.com, so I can have a domain
-I set up the router to notify the dns service when my dynamic IP changes
-Camera has HTTP port 80
-I set up port forwarding in Linksys for port 80 to port 80 and typed in the static IP of the camera. (I have tried assigning different port numbers on the camera and changing the port numbers in the port forwarding to correspond, but no luck)

I have followed everything that Axis and Linksys has suggested in their manuals. I contacted my ISP and they suggested changing my modem to Bridge mode and then changing my Router to PPPoE mode. I did this, but still cannot access the camera from a remote computer.

I have tried accessing the domain on the dyndns.com site, and have tried typing in the current dynamic IP into a web browser. I have tried adding the colon plus the Port number after the IP address in the browser, and I have tried typing in the colon plus Port number after the domain name too. I am seriously at a dead end. My ISP says they do not block incoming traffic on my ports either. Please help!

Have you entered your routers IP in the Gateway Settings of your camera?

I thought it was automatically configured, but I'm not sure. I haven't manually entered it in. What about DNS servers? There are two fields, one for primary and one for secondary? Should those be filled in too?

Dwayne i cant thank you enough , ive had 2 network cams which worked fine on pipex, changed to sky over a 1yr ago.. wont work , read forums about sky blocking ports, keep having ago then sicken my self and give up. ive tried everything(or thought i had)
changed firmware on ng router,tried all sorts of no.s even bought new linksys router, i put router ip in gateway like u said and it workssssssssssssssssssssss thank you again......

Put your routers IP in the Gateway and also in the DNS primary field of your camera. you can leave the second empty. you need to setup the gateway and the dns field after the camera is set to a static local IP adress as you said in your first post and not DHCP - only in this case all entries like IP; Gateway and DNS are set automatically.

Thank you Dwayne! The Gateway IP was originally set at 192.1.1.1. So I changed it to my router IP 192.168.1.1 and it worked! But, now I have another problem. I am not able to view the camera at my work because my company blocks me from installing ActiveX. Is there anyway around this?

I cannot help you there, after I have no experiance with the Axis 207w, however from what I have read it is possible to view a single jpg, which you download from the camera. Maybe some other guys with expeirance with the axis 207w can help you.

Other ways around would be restreaming services, which let you watch your cam by javabased mjpeg or uploading frequently images and setting up an own site using a flash to watch the images.

At least you can now access your cam from outside Smile

I also have this problem and I have done what has been suggested, but my first time login/configuration screen does not look like it does in the manual. I never get to the "set root password" screen only get this when I connect to the Cam after assigning the IP:

"This camera is a part of an Internet camera service and is used and managed from the service provider's web portal.
The links shown here are only functional for 5 minutes after the camera is started, and are only available if the camera does not connect correctly to the Internet service.
If the camera is not assigned an IP address automatically (via DHCP), it is possible to assign one manually, by clicking the 'Network Settings' link above.
The Server report can be used for troubleshooting purposes."

I have reset the cam about 50 times now and can connect to the cam for about 5 minutes and change the network settings. After about 5 min. I get a login screen. I have tried all the default usernames and passwords I can find for the Axis 207W but nothing works.
I even tried contacting Axis support and they say it is not a "real" Axis camera and they are sorry to say that they will not support it or anwser my questions.

Can someone please help me a bit?

If Axis is saying its not a real Axis camera, then is there more to the story about the details of this camera I didn't understand or read?

I mean if your saying you have a 207, but Axis is saying you don't then there is a missing piece in this puzzle. Confused
