Hi,

Been struggling with this problem for a long time, with no solution from Axis.

I have 3 Axis 207w's and 1 Axis 221. The 207w cameras are wirelessly connected to a DLINK DIR-655 router (802.11G) and the 221 is directly wired to the same router. The 207w's are fairly close proximity to the router and have good signal strength (70-90%). I have also monitored the RF for interference, but it seems very clean, except for the wireless traffic from these cameras.

I am using Visec s/w for the IP camera capture and storage.

Initially when the 207w's are powered on, the cameras work for a good while (say for a few days) and then tend to "go to sleep" and don't respond again until power cycled.

The 221 always works, no issues.

I have updated to the latest firmware, but the 207w's still go to sleep after awhile. I have checked and rechecked all the settings, and can't figure out why this is happening.

thanks for any suggestions...

I use the same router, it's really good.
I notice you say wireless G, mine is actually now pre-N.
If I recall correctly they were shipped as G and needed a firmware upgrade to be N standard - I guess that's worth a try?

When you say the 207s go to sleep, I assume that the first thing you notice is that they are no longer connected and providing images to your recording software?

Are they still on the network?
Can you view them at their IP address?
Can you ping them?

Given that the wired Axis camera doesn't experience problems, it might be as well to look at the wireless upgrade first ....

My 207W drops out after 3 days. I have it set up fixed IP address

I am novice for networks on computers. I've read other similar troubles but not like mine. I have it connected for about 3 days and usually drops by the 3rd day. I am thinking its related to the dynamic DNS stuff.
Under IPv4 address config -wireless .
Status: Active
Enabled IPv4
Use the following address: 192.168.0.18 (range up to 50)
subnets mask: 255.0.0.0
default router: 192.1.1.1

Using a netgear wireless router with WEP
several printers on this network as well as multiple wireless computers.

Any one had this problem before.

First thing i noticed is your need to configure your Subnet and Router IP's properly, depending on how you setup your network your details should look like this.

IPaddress: 192.168.0.18
subnets mask: 255.255.255.0
default router: 192.168.0.1 (or 254 depending on which your router uses)

Our software support Axis 207w and Axis 221, it use rtsp to stream mpeg4 encode not mjpeg to connect to these ip camera, so it is really a video stream mode! more fluent on internet ! http://www.h264soft.com
