I just bought a Cnet CIC-901W 802.11g and would like to know if anyone has set on eof these up before with a linksys router. So far I have gone into my router and opened an port 80:80 both ways for a 191.168.1.112. If I assign the Cnet camera this IP address will it work, or do I have to assign it another IP address.

well to be honest I really hope u did have better luck with ur cam than I did.. I have 5 total cams 2 linksys 2 axis and this one piece of crap.. sorry for the language but I hope you understand my frustration, I bought this cam and could not get it to work at all wireless then after hours of messing with it, it finally pulled an IP address.

I was able to access the internal setup page one time with success and set the IP to static so it would pull the same IP address again and now still does work LAN but WAN is hit and miss at best!!

I unplug it to get it to take the IP address from the router and it will work right up until I open the web page select the options button and POW it freezes up IE and drops the ip address and will not acquire the IP again..

and to top it all off this is the closest thing I have come to as far as support (not that this is bad just not what I was looking for!) there are no updates for this cam that I have found no website no nothing..

I will never buy another off brand cam again.. I was looking to save money and I got what I paid for.

thanks for reading my rant!
