You can configure motion detection sensitive areas on screen within the field of view to detect activity.
In that camera you can use three detection area rectangles. You stretch or shrink the rectangle's size and position it on screen to cover the area of interest e.g. a doorway, window, etc.
You can then set the sensitivity of detection for the change of video within each area e.g. whether the camera needs to see a big change within the area to determine it as activity.
You then configure what action you want the camera to take upon detection e.g. close a contact to make something happen, set a 'flag' to mark the date & time of detection, send an email, increase the recording quality or rate, etc.
If you use ACTi's video recording software with the camera, you get the same functionality within the software package configuration. I recall that they recommend the setup to be done within the software if you are using it. _________________ www.use-IP.co.uk
