|
|
Hi,
I'm looking at putting up a IP camera, nothing major, just a publically available view of some scenary.
Anyways, my question relates to putting the cameras on my network, and then exposing some ports, via proxy or DMZ holes to the internet. I'm worried that this opens up my network to attackers, as they can basically bypass my firewall by hacking the camera.
Does anyone have information on the security of cameras? Not that they can view the stream, but it can be used as a hop into my network?

They would have to have root/admin access to be able to upload custom scripts that would do them any good. Just set your permissions right on the camera and you shouldn't have any problems. _________________ I can record your video remotely. PM for details.

Why can't you use a exclusive use computer for the camera. Buy a Dell for $379 and use it. Why do you have to use your "computer system"??? and your Network???
