Cheap eBay camera control software

I'm sending the clone back, the picture is not sharp at all and you can't use it from a cell phone like the real Foscam. From what I understand, the real Foscam is packaged in cardboard, the clone in white foam. The cameras, stickers, box are identical.

I ordered another one, this time from a seller on ebay that specifically says Foscam brand camera. The price is about the same, maybe 50 Yuan more.

Just to let you know that I installed today the latest firmware from Foscam on my camera. It did worked nicely (after checking on Gadget Victims - I luckily got a real one from eBay and not a copy).

FYI, the cable connecting the WiFi board to the 'mother board' did go loose which effectively disabled the Wireless. I had to open the camera and plug it back in its connector. Down this line, it's a nice addition to the FW to have a wireless scan function available.

got one of these cameras.
tried it out and it works fine
except for the ftp uploading which does not work so well for certain ftp sites.
also the wireless networking may not automatically connect after power up.
need to power up a few times to work.

dont know if it is foscam or not, doesnt matter the picture quality looks fine.

my omnia cant seem to display video, at least can use this to display still images using iris browser

anyone has code to process incoming mpeg video from /video.cgi?

For those discussing Foscam cameras and iPhone/iPod Touch, I should mention that my "Live Cams" app currently supports both still images and live video from these cameras. The next update will contain the necessary PTZ commands to complete the product offering.

There are several sellers on ebay now, both wired and wireless models but are the clone camera still NOT worth bothering with.

They are now as cheap as £48

What useful links can someone post for this camera or foscom camera. eg: software, updates etc

I have contacted several ebay sellers of these camera's and all have informed me that they are NOT foscam branded although they could send the Foscam branded camera for $10 more.

But after a quick search, other genuine sellers for the Foscam brand are selling them as genuine at around £57delivered.

Would anyone still recommend getting the cheaper clones if they have had no problems with them and they work as they should.

I have just ordered one of these from eBay ; and unfortunatly it looks like I'm going to get one of the clones. (Should have done a bit more research here 1st!) (The buyer was a bit naughty listing many of these items some mentioning Foscam some not! = and I bought one that was not (they all looked the same to me lol)

If it works I'm not too worried; for the functionality they seem very cheap.

Does anyone know if my clone (without any firmware updates) will work with the Webcam7 software?

me too,.I bought one of these clones again should have done more homework....

I can see the ipcam on home network, on internet I use 'mobiscope' for both laptop and Iphone (if you have a 3g signal works well) although no PTZ yet. It allows up to 4 cameras in freeware version.

What I need is some help on setting up the cam on my website, looked at the script generator on this site, does it work?

What cam make is reqd in the script generator?

Has anyone got one working on their website?

I have to flash his Chinese chamber latest firmware Foscam. Now the camera is not visible in
IP CAMERA TOOLS. Push to reset does not help. Steady green LED. Please
there are ways to tell my recovery.

Can someone help me with this weird problem.

I can view the stream using both the direct IP and /live.htm on my Windows PC and my iPhone. BUT, I can't view either on my Mac. It just won't connect to the IP address. Any ideas?
