Hi,

I don't if i'm in the right forum for this but i was wondering if it is possible to convert a usb-cable to an ethernet cable (this i know is possible) and then connect the cable directly to the ethernet port of my router. with the goal to the watch the images on my mac over the WAN.

and i know the router probably doesn't supply electricity to the webcam so i will come up with something for that ...

thnx in advance

We're not sure if this would work.

However what would work much easier is a Power over Ethernet compatible camera + a PoE injector near the router.

The camera will receive power + data on the same ethernet cable, and you can view the camera over your network via a normal connection.
