hello
i'm trying for days (weeks) to make a d-link dcs-950g properly work
even with the 1.06 software i failed
as some problems are contradiction with the official spec of the product, d-link support send me a mail accepting i re-give it to the reseler
this reseller also propose the linksys wvc54g which seems me rather close... on paper
did somebody experience the two cameras ?
my main application is motion detection + email + smart recording on a local pc, inside a room with poor lighting and some light variations. i need a reliable motion detection
thanks

Well juding by all the reviews and horrible experiences I have seen with the DCS-950, I would suggest the Linksys camera. _________________ Administrator

I'd stay away from the 950.
there is a lot of bad feedback on this site about those cameras even with the new firmware _________________ - - - - - - -

I had a DCS-950g with the new firmware(v1.06). No trouble for me.

I have the WCV54G but do not use the motion detection, however I seem to remember that the last firmware upgrade to the camera caused that feature not to work properly and Linksys has not upgraded the firmware in some time. You might want to do a little more research on that camera if that is the feature that most interests you. I like the camera for what I need, just a static outdoor view.
