Can an IP camera be used as a webcam?
If yes, how and which one?

Unless you have some strange reason that this is a just MUST have idea, if your wanting a webcam for instant messengers or skype just get a webcam. The cost difference is pretty extreme when you start comparing $20 to $400-500. Confused

I have used similar setup.. In order to allow remote monitoring without changes to network setup (ISP did not allow streaming).. Configured/created MSN account on CCTV server to auto answer.. Then if I wan to see what is going on, I call my MSN account, and it auto start CCTV stream... Simple off site monitoring, the down side of this is that resolution is very low..

WebcamXP is a powerful webcam and network cameras monitoring and it is a streaming software for every use.

Just try to find this out as, it is no doubt a very ideal tool to secure your goods.
