Hi everyone,

Nice site I just found, and maybe one of you guys can help me out. I have 2 Panasonic network cameras at home that I would like to be able to record the images to my computer harrddrive. I know Panasonic has it's own software, but is there anything free that I can use? Or not so expensive? Thanks so much, and nice site!

Forgot to mention I have an HP EX485 server that I would like these 2 cameras to record to.

How about $50. BlueIris is amazing and it is only $50! I use it to monitor 3 cameras right now with 3 more be added within the month. It has never let me down.

Thanks Boston, wow I was saying to myself so many reviews and no replies. I am going to download the free trial and give it a shot, sounds good. Thanks, can this record to a server?

okay, downloaded trial version and I am messing around with it. Looks like what I was exactly looking for, Thanks Boston! Now is the $50 a one shot charge, or does the software has to be renewed each year?

You own the software for one time purchase of $50 and you receive all of the updates for free, the program will prompt you to upgrade when it is available (usually around twice a month) The upgrade takes about 30 seconds. OH the support is amazing!

You do run this as a server, I do just that. But you can run it as a service on a single computer with no issues at all. My surveillance machine is a Dual Core Athlon 64 3800+, with 3GB RAM in a mini itx form factor. I will eventually replace it with a 64bit machine wither running either Server 2003 or Vista 64, Quad core Intel, 8GB of RAM in 2x Mirrored RAID HDD etc etc. It handles 3 cams fine with my current config but I will add 3 more as soon as I close on my new house so I want the extra horse power with no hassle!

The good thing is that I can just back up the Blue Iris configuration then just reinstall it on the new server and load the backed up config. voila back up and running!

Good luck with your install and let me know if you need any network help, I am a network engineer by trade so ask away if you need it.
