|
|
Greatings,
I'm thinking of buying the Linksys WVC200 to keep an eye on my little one, I've never had or used an IP camera before. Do you recommend this camera? my other alternatives are the D-Link DCS-5300W and the Panasonic BL-C30A, which do you think would be the best buy?
Thanks.

It sounds like a good cam. I might get one myself. I think the Panasonic BL-C30A is a bit expensive. _________________ - - - - - - -

I have seen mostly positive reviews on this cam, and it is also the least expensive PTZ cam with WiFi that I have been able to find. I think I am going to try one soon. _________________ XSNRG in everything!

Post a review on the camera if you buy one. They are fairly new but it sounds like they are good cameras _________________ Administrator

Ordered yesterday, looks like it will be here today even. I'll give it a review in a day or two. _________________ XSNRG in everything!

Great Review!
How is the Pan/Tilt range? I was looking over the specs and the range seems a bit low. _________________ Administrator

I would say the pan and tilt specs at +- 67 degrees from 0 (135-140) for pan and +30/-34 for tilt are about right. The pan seems pretty good, the tilt a little short.
One other thing to note, that should have been mentioned in my review under cons: Green is nearly non-existant. Point it at a nice green tree or lawn, and you get a purplish grey. Not pleasing at all. I will have to see if any of the other settings help this problem. Another thing for them to fix in firmware methinks. _________________ XSNRG in everything!

You can post an image screenshot in your post but it first needs to be uploaded to a FTP or website. If you want to email it to me I can upload it for you. My email is info@networkcamerareviews.com _________________ Administrator

I would not recomend this camera.
For me, it does not perform as claimed - poor color and no wireless capability with my D-Link DI-624 router. After many hours with tech service and one replacement unit they want me to send the replacement unit for another one. I am thinking that this is not compatable with non-Linkys units.
Also remember, Linksys/Ciscon does not refund if you are unsatisfied.
I will post a request for help in the troubleshooting forum.

I agree, the color is poor. The rest of the camera has been problem free for me though. It talks to my Netgear AP without any issues at all, and is using 128bit WEP for now. _________________ XSNRG in everything!

This has been a good camera, for use while watching my little one.
