With the new trend of the new technology will upgrade more rapidly. Consumer has get a lot of choice to make before they make a purchase.
For IP Cameras, where are their advantages. MP is not an advantage anymore. Manufacturers should consider how to make their items more attractive with more new features. SMARTEYE DIGITAL has choose to give their IP Cameras more new outlooks. Smart Robot, Astro Boys or Predator all become their new selling points.
Smart Robot
ASTRO BOY
And some manufacturer are even thinking of integrate the bluetooth into IP Cameras. To achieve what kind of new function to the IP Cameras? We will need to wait and see. _________________ www.nvipcam.com

MP is the biggest advantage of IP cameras and until the camera manufacturers in Shezhen understand that, all they will make is cheap cameras for the hobby market.

MP surely is a big advantage for the top market. But right now, how about the low market? Some people will consider about their budget problem. Choose some new outlook and an average pixel camera is also very good choice _________________ www.nvipcam.com

It's hard for many people these days to be happy with VGA resolution. Most people have inexpensive cell phones with 2 MP cameras, mine has 3 MP camera and the newer phones have 5 MP cameras. I know you can't compare a still camera with a video camera, but people have higher expectations. Then look at inexpensive video cameras like the Flip HD Ultra, for under $200 has HD quality, runs 30 fps and stores 2 hours of video internally. Isn't it time we had a surveillence camera that was MP, runs 30 fps and stores 2 hours of video and costs $200? If this isn't driven by China, then who?
There are so many inexpensive VGA IP cameras, do we really need more? Also, costs is relative, if I can buy one camera that replaces 2 because of increased resolution, do I really save money by buying cheap?

I agree with you. If I can get a better resolution, I surely will spend more money for it. But still I think these are our personal needs. Different people have different needs. Just like you wanna go to somewhere, you only need a bike or just walk, you will not want a car although it is much advanced. So VGA still suit some people if they want to use it at home or a limited space. That is excellent quality and reasonable price. And our H.264 compression IPs are not bad on the market.
And I am also expecting the cost down of MP IP Cameras. And actually 1MP IP Cameras are not very expensive already. Their price is also within $200 now. People can afford it. _________________ www.nvipcam.com

I fully agree! Show me QUALITY and PERFORMANCE! I could care less about cosmetic appeal.... Some of the cheap china products look like a polished turd and nothing more.
