Hello everyone...
I am a new member and I have a few questions about IP cameras...
We want to implement a new video surveilance system and we want to do it with IP cameras. But, I am having a problem with the type of camera. I was researching and read somewhere that there are analog cameras with A/D converter, and there is just an RJ45 output. My question is -is there a clear digital camera without a/d converter,I mean a camera that is recording straight into digital signal, without a/d converter. And how to make a difference in these 2-3 technologies...
Also a question about the video format-we have two video formats in offer-mpeg-4 and h.264. What is the difference in these two formats?
And one more request...Post me some web-links about IP video cameras, user guides,anything...

I'd recommend you don't get too hung-up on the details of A/D converters, far better to check sites like this for real world feedback on how users find the cameras perform than to worry about what's inside them Smile

Take note of the camera reviews.

MPEG4 and H.264 are both video compression standards, h.264 is the latest and greatest, and delivers best image quality whilst using smallest video image file sizes, and therefore results in minimal storage capacity requirement. It's still relatively new, cameras that include it often carry a premium price, you need to take a view on whether you need it.

Useful sites:
This forum is a great resource for independent user feedback.
An expert independent overview can be found at - http://ipvideomarket.info/
Dealer websites and dealer blogs are useful - dealers are keen to promote proven products for trouble-free system solutions.
Then finally, perhaps for the final product in-depth details - the manufacturers' websites.
