|
|
Linksys/Cisco technical service and I cannot configure my WVC200 to function wirelessly with my D-Link DI-624 router. Has anyone else configured this camera successfully?
I have:
Linksys WVC200 camera, V1.0 firmware (see below)
D-Link DI-624 wireless g router
running XP (SP2) on all computers.
using static address and WEP (or not, see below)
router is 2 feet from camera
Here is the rather long story:
The WVC200 will function correctly if wired to the router (though the color is poor) and I can access it outside the LAN using No-IP.
In wireless mode there is no connection though the camera's MAC address is registered on the D-Link wireless client list.
Things that I have tried that haven't worked:
Disabling WEP
Updating firmware – the updating process seems to go through the motions but the firmware is not updated.
Changing keys and channels
Removing wireless enhancements on the router
Getting a replacement unit from Linksys/Cisco and trying all of this over again.
I have spent several hours with Linksys/Cisco live chat and more using their email support. They have already asked me to replace the unit, which I did at my expense for shipping and time, but this did not help. Now, they want me to send in this unit for anther replacement, which I refuse. Linksys does not give refunds if you are dissatisfied with the performance of their products so I am stuck with this thing.
Linksys/Cisco tech service cannot help me. Maybe someone on the forum can.
I am beginning to think that this is a software problem since my router sees the MAC address and the camera functions well enough in the wired mode. Any ideas? Anyone been successful in configuring this camera wirelessly?
Thanks,

Hello Dave,
Sorry to hear you are having a lot of trouble. I have used your router before and ended up buying a Linksys WRT54G. I found the D-Link router had a lot of issues. Now, I didn't have any wireless issues with the router but I also didn't try wireless.
I have a suggestion you can try. If your WVC200 is set to G wireless, set your D-Link router to also be G wireless - not B or G wireless. I have found this can cause issues with some IP cams.
Let me know how that goes. I will try to find another solution if it doesn't. _________________ Administrator

Thanks Wes for the suggestion.
Unfortunately, when I tried this I still could not get a connection. Linksys/Cisco said that they are now going to try to replicate this problem in their lab. _________________ DaveS

I have a Linksys router and am having the same problem. On the Ethernet, the camera works fine, in and external. As soon as I go Wireless, I can't detect the camera and it doesnt work so any help is greatly appreciated.

Just a though can you connect wirelesly with other devices or just not the cameras? If so then I would say try different channels and if that still doesnt work send the cams back.
