You got me, what is a Sony X40EBL? Is that really a Sony (should say Sony on the side of the camera) or is it like the great Zohan said, Sony guts?

That camera is not made by Sony. A lot of companies in China take unbranded cameras made in China that have a Sony CCD and sell it as a Sony. I had a vendor spec out Sony cameras for a project and he shows up with cameras like yours. I sent him home for trying to cheat us. I said if it's really a Sony, show me that model on Sony's website, he couldn't, we got a new vendor.
