Hello!
I have a question about live streaming with windows media services. The idea is a camera that streams live image to mutiple users using the h.264 codec.
The ip camera iam using is an IP camera from axis (axis pp3301). This camera is connected to the PC. The PC is connected to the internet.
Now the plan is to stream this video through WMS, i tried a couple thing such as windows media encoder, but this program cant load ip cameras (?). So i cant send it to the WMS. I also tried VLC player, i loaded the web streaming in the VLC and wanted to send this to the WMS, but i cant seem to find out how.

Does anyone have an idea on how to do this, i cant find any information with ip cameras and WMS.

I attached an image to give you an idea of what i mean.

thanks in advance

Axis has a way to stream to a website on their support site. Look for it and if you can't find it, i'll look through my notes for the link.

and was just what i needed.

Hello again,
I got the camera working with the h264 codec installed on the camera. The default codec for streaming is h264 (eg if u go to the camera's ip adress you get the h264 streaming video screen).
Now i use windows media encoder with the plugin to capture this stream and broadcast it, i pull the broadcast with windows media services 9 and i want to broadcast this with multicast.
2 questions:
How do i make sure that the codec IS h264, cause i cant check it when i play the stream in a media player..
How do i setup the multicast, i followed the wizards but i get errors while playing it. The setup atm is a switch with a client and the server connected, so no router involved.

Please help me if you can,

best regards
