For people who've tried remote (internet) access for their Foscam FI8908W, what kind of framerate do you guys get? I get a horrible 1/2 frame per sec. Question Question Exclamation Question

To get the full 30fps at VGA resolution, should should have an upload speed of about 1Mb/sec for MJPEG. You didn't say what internet service you have, but if it's DSL, it's not going to happen. Most people get the 256kbps upload plan, the most expensive in my area is 768kbps. But even having a good advertised speed, doesnt' mean you get it and add to the the horrible WiFi connection these camera have and it maybe as good as it gets. Then it's all the hops that the connection has to take between you and the camera through the internet. To check hops, run the tracerouter command on Linux or tracert on Windows. Each hop adds latency, the more hops you have, the less fps you'll get. Great is 2-3 hops, really bad is 15-30 hops.

Go to a internet speed test site like www.speakeasy.net and see what your upload speed is.
