I was thinking about picking up a couple of these cameras but now with some further research it looks like you have to remove the SD card to view the recordings on it. This would seem like a really bad idea compared to Axis, Mobotix and Y-cam that allow you to look at what is recorded via any web browser. I can't imagine anyone wanting to climb on a ladder to take out an SD card, look at it on your computer then climb back up and reinstall the thing...

Can someone confirm or deny that this is the case with the Panasonic.

Thanks!

That is great news and thanks for the reply.
I was not sure after reading this (look at the very end of the document):

I do have another question that hopefully someone can answer, can this camera and related recordings in question work fine on a Mac with OSX (10.6)?

Be careful with that camera, it can only record (ftp or to SD card) in VGA. You can live view in megapixel mode. And as far I took it, you do have to remove the card to play it. I do like the square form factor. Also, it's a day only camera, no IR capabilities, so you need white light at night for it to see.

I got one of those cameras. You don't have to remove the card to look at the images. If you log directly into the camera you can view the recorded images on the Buffered Image tab providing you got the camera configured to record on the SD.

p.s. - as buellwinkle stated, you cannot record h.264 or mega pixel, only VGA. This was a major fault for Panasonic in my opinion and now I only buy Axis.

Thanks for all of the information, I would like to have megapixel recording on the SD card since the camera is capable of it.
Thinking now about Axis or Mobotix since they do have that option. I spoke with Axis tech support and they don't have a way to view the recordings "at this time" on a Mac without removing the card but I could run Bootcamp and install Windows on my laptop to review the material.
Mobotix does have a software program for the Mac that enables viewing what is stored on the card on Mac computers.
