Hi All,

It's worth noting that Samsung Techwin do offer email and telephone support for just these sort of questions, as well as training sessions on all the DVR, NVR and camera ranges. Lots of people struggle with configuring things like port forwarding and DDNS settings to allow remote access to the units, so it's something we're very able to assist with.

The European tech desk can be contacted at eucctv.help@samsung.com, or on 0800 169 1269. If you're outside of Europe, drop me a PM and I'll put you in touch with the relevant team.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi there Adam
I am trying to set up an SRD1650 to be viewed by an IPhone4 with Samsung Viewer software downloaded from Itunes Store.
Are there any manuals as to how to set up the Iphone.
I have tried Port 80 and port 554 to 557 for HTTP and RTSP respectively.
The IP is set up as a dyndns accout e.g. http://graham.dyndns.org
Any suggestions as to why i am not getting into dvr?

Regards

Graham

Hi Graham,

Have you been able to resolve this issue? I have exactly the same problem. Using a Samsung SRD1650, I can't get the iPhone App to connect via the WAN. It works fine locally (i.e. on my wireless network) but no luck from outside my network.

I've tried connecting directly to the IP address and also via dyndns.org. It's driving me crazy.

Regards,

Daniel.

use IPOLIS as your dial in.
do not put http:// before your dyndns host name
ensure that the dvr if of version 1.03 - anything less will not read
you cannot log in through safari on youer iphone.

I can log into dvr, but do not get video - am suspecting version mismatch.

Will post solution once logged in

I am trying to use the IPOLIS app.

DVR is SRD1650 SW v1.03
Config setting in DVR are:
Protocol TCP
Static IP address
TCP Port 554 - 558
Webviewer Port 80

In the IPOLIS App, it works perfectly when on my LAN with the following settings:
Host: Static IP address of the DVR
HTTP Port: 80
RTSP Port: 558
ID and Password set to that of the DVR

I've got Port forwarding set up on my router which I think is working OK. When using the open port tool on dyndns.com, it tells me there is an open connection to the <WAN IP address of my router>:558

However, I can't figure out what the IPOLIS app settings should be to get it to work. Not sure if it's the app settings or something not right with the router setup. I've tried using the dyndns host name (without http://) and also tried using the WAN IP address of my router in this field.

Not sure where to go from here.
