I was recently set on buying a bunch of Vivotek Cameras. I've used them before, they hit a nice spot on the price-performance spectrum, and their support is good.

My next installation is for a commercial space which will have a SIP/Hybrid PBX (Phone System).

I contacted the people at Vivotek about their SIP support, and was met with "our cameras don't support audio over SIP?!?" I pointed them to their datasheets, and eventually they clarified that while they provide and SDK, I'd essentially have to "roll my own" SIP interface.

Grandstream makes SIP phones, so I have no doubt their cameras will work well with Freeswitch (the software to be used as a PBX which integrates the Sofia SIP stack).

Their pricing is also great, but the options are much more limited than with Vivotek (e.g. no cheap SD outdoor bullet cams).

Do I have an option with Vivotek/Grandstream pricing, Grandstream's SIP support, and Vivotek's selection?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Those would work, but they're priced more like Axis and Cisco rather than Vivotek and Grandstream,

SIP is the most popular VoIP Signalling Protocol.
