I'm just wondering if these links work from Dropbox. They are snapshots of a drug addict/meth maker on the run from the police as he ran through my property after attempting to rob drugs from a supermarket pharmacy next door to my poperty. The scumbaggg (I hate all drug addicts - too many in my area) fled on foot. The workers in the pharmacy did not have a good description and their security camera system was basically usless. None the less, the scumbagggg made the mistake by running thriough my property and triggered several of my cameras. The police pursued the suspect with a police dog (jn the pictures), but the druggie got away.

Once I informed the cops that I had the suspect on video (6 hours after the event), they immediately came to my house to see the "show". i made several snapshots of the druggie, emailed them to the police that were in my house, the police redistributed the photos to the entire force. Within an hour, the druggie was in jail.

The druggie's partner in crime was also found in the store's parking lot with heroin and syringes in their vehicle.

Update: i modified the link in my opening post. Ignore this reply since I can delete it.

Crap! I'm logging in from a different PC and get a 403...... Someone recently posted links from their Dropbox and they worked. I got to figure out what I did wrong unless someone can beat me to the answer.

Try putting them in a folder called public in your Dropbox folder. Then right click on the file to get the Dropbox link.

Buellwinkle, try the link below.
(I think this will work now) http://db.tt/K5whvCTV

This is not the way I really wanted my pictures to be dispalyed as the link above shows the entire folder, not selected pictures. This is the way I read to do it on the web via Google hits, but there must be a better way. By the way I threw in a few extra pictures of things seen on the property from time to time.

The pictures showing the druggie running (dope in the white shirt and baseball cap) and like views are from Axis P1346 cameras. The dark picture showing the bear against the double bay garage door is from an Axis Q1755 which totally sucks in low light, but produces the best pictures of any of my cameras in daylight. The other pictures are from Axis M1114 cameras.
Too bad the druggie did not run into the bear. That would have been a blood bath caught on camera.

What does one do when confronted by a bear in a dark alley?

I don't know, but that may happen around here soon so I will let you know when it happens and will post a pic if caught on camera.

Oh crap!!! I copied an avi movie file from my security camera into the Dropbox shared folder and verified it was there. When I clicked on the link to my Dropbox shared folder (posted a few responses back) I expected to see the avi file along with the picture files. To my surprise it didn't, so I guess the shared Dropbox folders will only show picture files through shared links.

Sorry all --- I spoke TOOooooooo soon. Dropbox will display my avi files. Buellwinkle, click on the link from the posts above. Once the Dropbox webpage opens, scroll to the bottom. I uploaded 2 avi files from my security cameras.

Cajon.avi is from my Axis M1054 - location is in my hot rod garage. Me and my g friend were unloading furniture from my truck into the garage. The video shows what was seen through its lens. For some odd reason, this video played back upside down. Trust me, it shows well when viewed directly from Dropbox as well as the file itself on my PC.

Work Shop2.avi - This video shows the bear as it walked through the area as seen from my Axis P1346 at night.

Video looks good from the m1054, reminds of that Lionel Richie song, Dancing on the Ceiling. On the bear shot, it's unusual that its in color, I guess there must be enough light to keep it from triggering the ir cut filter.

Around noontime today my cameras were triggered with an person jumping my fence, running through the rear my property then jumping a fence on the opposite side of the property while at the same time cops racing up and down the road in their cars.

I have no clue what happned but I called the cops to tell them were the guy was heading with a clear description. They nailed his assssss. I am still trying to figure out what happened and I am in contact with the local newspaper as they try to get a story from the cops. I suspect the guy either held up one of the stores in the shopping center next door and it was a drug deal gone bad.

Sice this guy was ran over the block pad to my rear door, he could have easily ran into my house to hide if it was NOT secured.

Anyway, I loaded two videos to dropbox and a bunch of still shots for all to see in the following link: http://db.tt/K5whvCTV

The two vids are named:

Back Yard Stairs 12-23-2011 11h57m
Rear Yard 12-23-2011 11h57m

The still shots all begin with:
Back Yard Stairs 2011-12-23-11-57-
Rear Yard 2011-12-23-11-57-

When the story of what happeded becomes available, I will post an update.

I can't figure out why these fools decide to jump my fences to escape robbing the shopping center and the bank next door only to be caught on HD and high res video (happens 2 or 3 times a year) . My next project will be connecting 440 Volts the fences. or digging a moat around my property and filling it with gators and poisonous snakes.

I was looking out just as this happened.

There is no audio on this AVI, but to give you an idea, imagine standing next to the Big Bang when it went off.

Being AVI, I think you'll need Windows 7 to see it, or XP and a proper (MPEG-4 ASP) decoder.

http://40th.com/tmp/blinding_light_show.avi

It may soon be renamed from .avi to a .zip.

The pole as it stands today:

Going by the scorched blackness, lightning it is. I suppose since there's little H2O in those, they don't explode like trees.

Cool! A transformer explosion. Nice capture and surprised you did not lose electric.

It's a pole with a street light, no transformer, It was not the only pole to arc. One across the street did, and I think one farther down the lane (all my cameras caught something; two have audio of it).

My neighbor two doors down had her fuse blow on her transformer (those are in the back) and was smart enough to notice AND flag down the guy fixing the pole you saw in the pic.

The power was out for a couple of hours. The lineman was at the scene in 30 minutes. Five minutes up that pole in a cherry picker. He pulled one crispy part off. Probably an insulator. I don't know.

It may have been lightning. It was very loud for a very short time. The pole is fine so who knows.
