I am considering testing some of the Dahua cameras. I am curious how the storage of events is handled.

I am looking at the DH-IPC-HDB3200CN to start.

If you record to the SD card, can it be setup to move the file to a storage server after recording locally on the SD card automatically?

You can FTP video events, works well. Have not tried the SD card. I have tried FTPing events and recording via 3rd party software at the same time and that works.

Thanks..

Will the DH-IPC-HDB3200CN work with illuminators? I either missed the info, or didn't see it on their website.

Absolutely it will work with all illuminators except IR ones. It's a day only camera, has a permanent IR filter. Their 3MP vandal domes are day/night and can come with IR led's built in or not.

http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hdb3200c--17.html

It shows
Day/Night Electrical Day/Night

What is the difference between that and an IR Cut filter?

Also, the one I am looking at online has a 2.8mm lens, what kind of view angle will I get with it? I like the 87 deg I have with my Axis.

I just got confirmation that it will not work with IR (the vendor tested to be sure). Now I have to look at other options.

Sad

I have the 1.3MP vandal dome with illuminators to try out, just haven't gotten it configured yet. I sent you a PM with images from the IPC-HDB3200CN. Trying to put images/video together so I can post a review a handful of Dahua cameras and their NVR.

That is something I might me interested in.

What is the viewing angle on the 1.3MP vandal dome? I like the wide 87 degree on my Axis.. I am laying things out for about 80-100 degree coverage.

What price range can I expect for that camera?

Thanks
