Got a big box of Axis cameras to test out. Mostly the test is for Axis Camera Companion (ACC). This where the camera records to SD or a network drive and you use ACC to view the cameras and the recordings. ACC is free and it's for people that want a small network of camera but not the expense and maintenance of an NVR or PC to record.

Here's what I got. Now I just need to set these up and find a place to put them while I run my tests.

P3343 Vandal Dome
P1344 Box Camera
M5014 PTZ Dome
M1014 Cube camera

I know, but it will be a good grounding for when they send me their new IR LED version when it comes out. Actually does outstandingly in low light. This shot is near midnight, only light is the street light across the street and in the distance my neighbors lanscape light. I don't think I've seen a camera that did this well in this lighting. The new one is supposed to be better with their Lightfinder technology so it should be great.

They sent to me to test ACC, not so much the cameras.

That is a good pic for minimal lighting. A little IR boost on top of that would be a great pic. You know that is what I have considered moving up to, but the P33xx series are not cheap when buying 10+ of them.

It could be this model is cheaper because it's discontinued, not sure. And yes, prices skyrocket when you add in day/night capability with Axis as you go from M series to P series.

Ok so Axis now has something like the direct recording to NAS like mobotix?

I like my Panasonic cameras, but haven't figured out a good solution with recording yet. I wish I could figure out how to get my raspberry pi to run blue iris.

Yes, Axis cameras labeled as having Edge Storage (most new cameras) means it can record to either an internal SD card or a NAS like Mobotix. You can view recordings from the camera web interface, but like Mobotix, it's just a list of files, not practical. They provide free software called Axis Camera Companion that is similar to Mobotix MxControlCenter. Axis currently limits this product to 16 cameras.
