Question - does anyone know how to override the 10 minute pause between guard tour cycles on an Axis P5534? I googled, but nothing found. What I conclude is Axis claims the 10 min pause is to prevent damage to the PTZ gizmo inside the camera. My experience is this is not true. Axis under rated the P5534 in this area. I had 2 of these cameras. Both cameras ran a continuous cycles 24x7x365 with only 10 SECOND pauses between presets which was controlled by my old NVR. My first P5534 died after a lightning strike and had almost a year running. Its replacement has been running for over a year on a continuous ptz until recently. I never experienced any problems. My new NVR does not support guard tour as far as I know. I would need to go the next level up....

Is there a way to override the 10 minute pause by either going through the camera's GUI or through the backend and modifying the parameter that controls the pause between guard tour cycles? I would like to set it to zero.

Pete, I tried the suggestion from the link. I think what is being done is an event is setup to trigger an action once a certain preset is reached in the guard tour cycle to start the guard tour from the first preset and this is to happen before the guard cycle finishes. Setup correctly, this will happen over and over..... Effectively, the guard tour really never finishes, so the 10 minute wait never happens. I tried to set it up, but I need to work on it a bit more.

is there are option in Milestone to manage the patrol?

You can also create a script to do it, have it send an URL command on preset intervals to have go to presets.

I am still on a learning curve with Milestone and from what I read, guard tour or patrolling is available with the next step up above Essentials. Maybe I am retarded and possibly wrong, but the place to setup it up would be in the schedule and I don't see it there. My work around with the P5534 is to run IVI NVR as a service with only the P5534 camera enabled and setup to jump from preset to preset continuously with 10 second pauses between each jump. Simple and works, but someday I would like to totally shut down IVI, but for now I can live with it. Both IVI and Milestone use very little CPU.

I never scripted for my cameras. but maybe it is time to learn.

As myQ6035-E, it allows a time between guard tour cycle to be set as low as 0, s no problem there.
