I have a DLink 3220 G camera and can not access it from all computers. When I go to my page at www.romamexico.com/webcam (userid demo no password) it asks to install an active x control. On some computers it installs and connects fine. On some it installs the active x and then will never connect.
I have the same problem if I try from the internal IP addy. I have removed the active x control and reinstalled many times. I have the latest IE and have disabled all firewalls and blockers etc.
Anybody run into this?

Dlink support is less than helpful if you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance to all.

I was able to view the camera fine. Is it located on a resort? If you need some on-site service let me know Wink I'm just kiddin.

What kind of Internet connection is the camera running on? If you have a few people viewing the camera at once it might take a while to connect depending on the bandwidth provided from your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

No the problem is not the camera by the looks of it. It seems to be the computer. I have one new computer that can not connect to it no matter what I try. The other computer onsite works fine.

I am in Puerto Vallarta at a Bar. www.romamexico.com

Thanks for your reply

There are several activeX controls in IE. Go to

Tools->Internet Options->Security->Custom Level.

Either set to enable or prompt for anything that mentions activeX. Close and re-open the browser and try again. If that doesn't work, add the IP address of the camera as a trusted site in the browser

Tools->Internet Options->Security->Trusted Sites.

Good luck.

What port are you forwarding to the camera on your router?

Port 80

Remember it works fine on another computer in my network. I also have a few clients who can not access from the outside world.

That sounds very strange. When other users cannot connect they are trying to view the camera on your web page right? Could you try getting them to connect to the camera when they get the connecting error? This would tell us if the web page script is causing the issue or the camera itself.

If you are using port 80 you shouldn't have a problem with this. Worse case scenario, try changing the port and seeing if that works. Are the other users who get issues behind a firewall as well?

Just the odd person can not connect and it seems active x related. On one of my computers the active x installed and worked fine. On the other the active x installed but never connects just sits there saying connecting. I have removed the active x and reinstalled.
I am a bit of a computer geek and have really run out of ideas. Dlink support is less than helpful.

I checked your source code. It looks like you did not include your port number. Is camera behind a router?? It should be after all it is wireless. Check if you need to forward a port. I tried to go for your ip address at port 80 and nothing showed up.
