Which package on that site interacts with IP Cameras?

The Vigil Client software describes itself as "for remotely viewing and saving footage from DVRs running Vigil Server." How does this help the OP?

Can Luxriot be set to schedule recording or just motion detecting?

You might want to try NUUO NVR software.
It allows both schedule recording and motion recording.

You could download the trial here.

I company called Seenergy out in Taiwan offers a few different versions of their Pi-Vu software that should be able to do what you have in mind.

Their "Basic" software is free and allows recording/playback/live monitoring. It is pretty feature rich allowing things like motion detection, PTZ control and multi monitor support. However, there is no browser viewing.

Their "Pro" version is a paid app that does everything the basic version does with added channels and browser viewing support.

I figure you can try out the free version and if you like it you can buy the Pro to get browser viewing support.

Hey, thank you for the Blue Iris link. I created an account just to post this thank you note!

I tried most of the stuff listed in this thread, just looking for something simple home use to work with a panasonic bl-c131a, all the stuff I tried was either way over complicated and/or wouldn't work.

blue iris was freakin' perfect man, the default software that comes with the panasonic drops the framerate down to what looks like 10-15fps when you add the audio stream in recording.

Your software was super easy to set up, and doesn't have the frame drop, so I finally get the full 30fps for smooth motion recording. Shocked Very Happy

About dang time man, that's been bugging me since I got the camera a year or two ago....

thanks again..

Sorry guys, for some reason we didn't get an email from the forums?

Anyway, yes, all of our systems work with IP and IP Megapixel cameras. By all means, if I can help just let me know.

Actually it is not easy to find the best recording software. I can give the only one advice: get a test camera and try the software yourself.

For example I tested a couple of software mentioned above and found out I don't really like it.

As a test camera I would not take AXIS, because AXIS is the oldest existing IP camera manufacturer so AXIS cameras are well supported by all IP video recording software.

I'm checking out the software suggested so far in this thread. But, I was wondering if anyone knows of a program that will record IP video AND local audio from a mic into a video stream?

BlueIris is OK for less expensive cameras. I could not get it to work with Arecont or Mobotix. Milestone Xceed did.
