Please be gentle, I am new to all of this. I was wondering if anyone had any information for me. I want to put a web cam/network camera into my retail store so that I can produce a snapshot or multicast to my online website but I am not sure what the best camera or even where to look for information to help me set this up. I have purchased an Everfocus EAN600 network camera but it seems that the camera cannot produce a web interface. Do i need software to do this? How does a live stream work? What kind of camera do i need?

Thanks for all your help,

Hi breggs,

Welcome to the site!

I'm not too familiar with the Everfocus EAN600.

If you were looking for a new camera however that supports snapshots. There are various network cameras out there that will FTP or email snapshots.

I know AXIS, D-Link and 4XEM cameras have that feature. You can set them up to do it on events, like every 10 seconds, or when motion is detected. You could even setup a live video feed on your website.

Now which camera to buy is a good question. You should evaluate what kind of camera you need. Do you want it to be wireless or wired? Do you need an optical zoom? Do you want the network camera to have a good resolution and great image quality?

Let me know the answers to these questions and I will let you know what cameras you should look at.

Thanks breggs Smile
