I downloaded the software have the IP camera (Axis 2100) on the network and can view it (via IE) no problem. When I go to have the software autodetect it does not find it. The network is internal only, I am running xp. I have installed the software on a clean box running 7 but have the same problem. I have gone from auto detect to the axis 2100 and still no luck. Have it set to a set IP so I don't understand the prob...

Any idea's?

I was sure that would not work.... wrong was me.

Not sure what FW rev I had but going to 2.43 did the trick.

Much Thanks!

Verify that the camera doesn't have some custom port or customization of TCP/IP. In fact I would suggest you just factory default the camera to clear any possible alterations.

Not sure if you did this already or not, so my apologies if you have, but has the camera's MAC address been registered through Milestone? The XProtect software requires camera MAC address registration first. You can then download the DLK (device license key) from the Milestone website, upload it into the Milestone software, and then proceed to insert the camera into the software.

I recall having the same problem when I first setup Milestone and started playing with it. No amount of playing around got Milestone to detect the 2100, but my pile of 216FD's were fine. I put it down to the Axis 2100 being so old, so I just had to manually select it. Worked fine with Milestone after that though.

Oh, and Milestone should autodetect (if autodetection works) prior to needing any camera licenses or DLK's.
