Hi..
since this is popular question...

Even "normal/cheap" camera can do POE.. POE (Power over Ethernet / network cable Cat 5 or 6)

What I did, was to get one of these of the ebay for $15.. This is not POE standard, have to use as kit. It works by using 4 out of 8 CAT-5 wires for power (kit includes injector and splitter). It down grades you network connection to 10mb, which still should be more then enough for IP camera..

Mine work just fine.. Plus, its great way to run only one Cat5 cable to do power and networking non-POE camera.

Great post, the PoE Injectors and PoE Splitters are a good solution for none PoE devices. Just be sure that you are aware of compliant and non compliant devices.

A compliant PoE switch or injector has the ability to sense if the device on the other end is capable of supporting PoE. A non compliant does not have autosensing capabilities and could fry a device on the other end it it is not PoE capable. A PoE Spiltter can also resolve this issue.
