Hi
Im about to install this at one of my customers.
They have 2 video servers.
So need to install a master version on one of them, And a slave on the other..
Right now they run seperate with 2 different slc. The master pc has aprox 32 camera connected. The slave pc has aprox 12 connected..
I have never tried this before. And even though i should be able to get a bit of help from my collegues. Im not sure they are interested in helping me to much, since im then taking some of they work from them.
So thought i would try ask in here. Since i have tried googled it, and searched for it on milestone website without much help
So a few tips, maybe a guideline, good ideas etc. Would make me so happy.
And give me a chance to impress my bosses.

Hi cains,
If both servers are on the same network, it couldn't be easier! If they are on different networks it should still not be too difficult.
First of all both servers need to be running XProtect Enterprise since Master/Slave functionality only exists with XProtect Enterprise or higher.
On whichever server you want to designate the "Master" server (the server that users will actually login to), open Image Server Administrator. Check the box to designate the server as a Master server, then click the Slaves button and add the IP address of the slave server to the list. Click OK and OK and you're done!
Now you just need to ensure that the usernames and passwords for Image Server users are exactly the same on both ends (Active Directory integration helps a lot here). _________________ Support Engineer

OMG...
I have a collegue that says that its very difficult, and even though he has certification from milestone, that he is not able to do it. Since its to advanced for him.
But what you tell me there, a 2y old could do it.
Looking forward to try it tomorrow.
thanks.

Sure did.
He paid the friday weekend beer.
Just hit one problem. There was device pack 4.2 installed on the old system.
Now with the 6,5f i cant get a vivotek 6121 to work.
The administrator just freezes when im trying to add the device.
I have tried with device pack 4.2 , 4.4 and 4,6
Freezes with all 3 of them..
Im not the one who set it up in the first place, but ive been told that vivotek has been guilty of giving gray hairs on people setting this up.
