How many mega pixels is it? Also, does it automatically pick a different port number for each camera? Otherwise, how do you set it up for remote viewing from a single IP address?

I bought this item today from Maplins not realising it had been discontinued.
I was not sure about the price tag as there were comparable products on the same shelf for upto £40 less, but the assistant assured me it was worth the extra money.
After setting up the system on my home wireless network, and it did take about an hour, I found the software to be absolutely sub-standard, the first giveaway were the number of spelling mistakes and poor grammar used across the application. Considering Bikal knew its destination market, I'm so suprised they did not get this checked for western use. But then, this is typical of many if not most eastern OEM's, they always think they know what's best.
The software really lets this product down, its clunky and not intuitive and lacks features. The interface cannot be resized which is the biggest issue for me.
I'm afraid it's going back to Maplins under 'not fit for purpose'.

Home surveillence is a hot market, but it's just not mature enough yet. Depending on your needs, consider the consumer grade cameras from Axis like the M10 series. They are inexpensive, have WiFi, not that hard to setup and decent image quality for the money. if you want to go a little better, their 207MW is a megapixel and wifi. Just save yourself further aggrevation by not buying cameras made in mainland China junk, because you'll spend hours trying to figure out why you can't get something to work when it's just the camera software that's buggy and cheap optics and sensor make for lousy image quality.
But if you like child-like simplicity and fun, I tried to get my technically challanged buddy (spent 2 hours last week with DSL tech support trying to get it to work and when I go there, it was just plugged in the wrong outlet). I think these are cool, will do home surveillance and double as toys -
