I was hoping I could get some honest feedback on the Milestone XProtect product. I have a tender at the moment that has by specification nominated this product (or the onssi depending on which website the consultant used).
I have downloaded the trial enterprise version and had a look and to me it basically seems rather simple and cheap... ok the setup isn't simple it`s a pain in the @rse 
What I want to know is, how reliable is this product especially with Mobotix cameras if anyone has done this, and also if you think this product is value for money.
I`ve used many products and to be honest alot of them seem better than this one, the only thing I find it really has going for it is the amount of cameras it supports....

Milestone 's software is very good ! but you also can test other software too.

A common gripe about Milestone is the setup process.
It is one of the most stable and long-standing VMS software products out there.
We dont have information specifically about Mobotix. Is anyone currently using Milestone with Mobitix here?
Are you looking for enterprise level features or just a good piece of VMS software?
At the Mid range & Enterprise level, you may want to look at:
Exacq & NUUO, which offer great features and ease of use with some enterprise features at a more affordable price point.

I have 2 clients with Mobotix Q24 on their servers.
Its not the best of setup since they make the program chrash if you use the motiondetection in Milestone.
Also there is a license issue with the camera since the fish-eye optic they use is under invetigation due to some other manufactorer have the patent on it.
Otherwise there are some sweet funtions in the Q24 camera.
