I've done a lot of reading and I'd like some advice on where people get their equipment...
I see amazon.com has some cameras, i also followed the link on this site...
suggestions please?

Amazon many times uses other resellers so it's pot luck on customer service.

Do you want to develop a ip camera? so need ip camera source code??? or only need a ip camera?

I've had good experience with these guys. Just give them a call and Michael has helped me through quite a few situations. I've found it's good to discuss your needs with someone in the industry because technology changes so often.

Find a camera manufacturer and model number that meets your needs then Google it on the internet. You will find MANY retailers selling the camera with a wide spread in price. Amazonis not always the cheapest and as Buelwinkle stated, they are resellers for many companies of which some are not always the most reputable.

Find the camera model/manfucturer you want, then call them and ask for their approved reseller contact list.
If you prefer working with Chinese companies, and I do, check out the top 3 brands there, ACTi, Vivotek and Messoa.
