|
|
|
To give everyone a little background, I have 2 locations with IP Cameras and Video servers running NetCam Pro. There is a mix of Intellinet and Vivotek cameras. Im trying to find a simple viewer that will allow a few users to see all 16 cams from both location on one screen. Nothing fancy just view the thumbs on one page. Prefer to have a free software but inexpensive will be considered as well. The software needs to be easy setup on 2 different computers for viewing at anytime. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I use BlueIris to record and view my 6 cameras and you can remote view them through a web browser. Works from my PC, Mac or iPad. Not free, but won't break the bank either, it's $50 for unlimited cameras.
The only thing to note is that if you want a lot of people viewing at the same time, you need a fair amount of upload bandwidth or it will be slow & choppy. _________________ For network camera articles and reviews, visit my blog at http://ipcamnetwork.wordpress.com

Thanks but I'm not looking to replace my existing camera server software just use something in additional for remote viewing purposes only. Can BlueIris do this without having to replace the existing?

Look at it this way, if you can't access the cameras from separate software, how are going to do it anyway. So you might as well use one software that. Does everything you want. You can download and trial just about anything out there and try them for free. _________________ For network camera articles and reviews, visit my blog at http://ipcamnetwork.wordpress.com

Just send a support request to Ken at BlueIris. He's pretty good, if you give him remote access to the camera, he can tell if you if it's a configuration issue or not. I had some off the wall unbranded camera I bought like 3 years ago and he made it work, sent me the settings and I use that camera now.
Sometimes with BlueIris, I setup the wrong camera by mistake, gets an error similar to what you decribed and then chosing the right camera doens't work. So I have to delete it and re-add the camera correct.y. Don't know if Ken fixed that bug yet, but easy enough workaround. _________________ For network camera articles and reviews, visit my blog at http://ipcamnetwork.wordpress.com

Yes, BlueIris is the one. I'm using it on my Win 7 Pro netbook to view 9 cameras in my house from outside.
