Does anyone know of an IP camera or system that is resistant to false alarms caused by changes in sun light. Even with the curtains drawn, my camera will often send false alarms when the sun goes behind or comes out from behind a cloud. (Alas, the room has a south facing window)
Surely there must be some software or a camera with both motion detection and some backup detector that can distinguish between real motion and a sudden change of lighting.
Anyone with experience here?
(Right now I am testing an indoor foscam with Evocam and Security Spy software and the system does not work very well because of false alarms even with the sensitivity lowered.)
I know many commercial grade cameras have settings that allow you to use rate of change to block out sunlight false alarms. The problem comes in situations where you may have say a tree blowing in the wind, in front of a window - can be tricky to filter that out.
I'm not familiar enough with Foscam to know if they include this feature. Buellwinkle may be able to help. _________________ Administrator
