I am trying to decide between these two cameras. We are going to use this indoors and feed the still jpegs to our website. There may at times be low light in the room.

The 207w is a little pricier. Is there any reason for that?

Also i know the 207w has access to the Axiscam.net dynamic dns service. Does the M1011w offer that as well?

Thanks in advance.

M1011W is a H264 ip camera, so it is expensive than 207W! If you only need jpeg picture from this ip camera, of course Axis 207W is enough to you!

Actually the M1011W is $183 and the 207W is 285 on amazon.

Why is the 207W more expensive? What does the h.264 do exactly?

thanks!

The 207w has audio (listen), can be focused, has digital I/O, and pulls a near-perfect 30 fps in light, and near-perfect 25 fps at night. When I say near-perfect, I mean you can't get any better. It's a fine camera, if VGA resolution will do.

The m1011w has no audio, cannot be focused (fixed- focus), and is anything but near-perfect in FPS. The m10 line has been out nearly two years, yet Axis is still selling the 207 which the m10 supposedly replaced. I see the m10 as a cheap 207; it appears to use the CPU for encoding, for one (I showed a comparison between the 207w and the m1031w a yaear or more back, somewhere here).

The m10 is already not long for this world; it has no reason to exist (other than being a cheaper-to-make-than-207-basic-camera). The 207w is a good little camera from 2007, but for $300 you could get better in 2011.

You can get the M1031W and that will give you audio and PIR motion detect and a built in led light. Frankly, avoid this junk. I replaced my M1031W with an ACTi amc-4201 cube. It's about the same price, it's 4X the resolution, works much better in dim indoor light and has a removable CS mount lens which gives you a limitless capability of lens choices. It's PoE, not WiFi, but to me that's better. WiFi has it's limitations.

Final order date is February 28th, 2011 for the Axis 207W. Discontinued

Also look at the M1054 it would be compared to the Acit TCM-4201

is there another camera in the $250 price range that anyone would recommend that does as good a job as these? Really all it needs to do is have wired and wireless access and be able to push still jpegs.
