Can you recommend the best ip camera software. (Reliable, nice UI, good set of features) Price really no object, I am just curious if there is such a thing.

I usually like to recommend Milestone software. I find it to be the easiest to use and very reliable. They actually offer a free one camera license off their site. Their website is http://www.milestonesys.com or you can click their banner at the top of the site Wink

Your question is very general, tell us a little more about what you want..
Platform for software ?
What features are required ?
What features would you like to have ?
How many cameras do you want to view ?
How would you like to access the pictures ?
CCTV cameras or Internet cameras ?

Hello,
We'd invite you to take a look at our service, NeverBlinks.

We have just launched www.neverblinks.com, which is a very reliable and robust Web-based Always-ON IP Camera Remote Monitoring Service. With neverblinks, you can set up your cameras on our website, and schedule recording and motion detection sessions without having to bother about running camera monitoring software on a computer managed by you. Our servers stay awake 24/7, and keep your premises secured!

Our servers are secure and very closely monitored so that we can ensure a very high level of reliability and up-time. Our motion detection is top class, with an option to select the Region of Interest through the web browser. And since its a browser based solution, you don't need to install any software before you get going.

We are currently running our limited Beta, where you can register for free and monitor up-to four cameras. Neverblinks supports cameras of many makes, but has been closely tested only for Axis cameras. We are always there to help you out with any support issues at support@mobicules.com. We promise to get back within 24 hours if you require any assistance.

You are invited to use www.neverblinks.com. Please contact us on support@mobicules.com for any questions, suggestions, or enhancement requests and ideas, and we'd be most pleased to answer you. Once again, we invite you to try www.neverblinks.com !!

Best Regards,

I tried to install griffid on 3 computers, 1 vista dualcore comp new, 1XP pro 1year old 1XP home 2 year old, unfortunately I never got anywhere. The software was just sitting there. After 10 minutes waiting I gave up on it. Moved to the next 2 computer with the same result. And that was the end for griffid. Sorry. Active webcam worked webcamxp worked. All tested with my little X10 camera.
I want to try milestone but so far I did not get the license yet and I signed up 3 days ago. I want to try it with a different camera

You also might like to try Blue Iris. It supports a large number of cams meanwhile, and the 16 camera version is below US$50. You can download a 15 day trial at http://www.blueirissoftware.com

Try the BiKal IP Surveillance Software. Available in 4, 8, 16, 32 and 64ch version its the first Multi-Hybrid IP software with support for many IP cameras, USB webcams, analogue capture cards and even IPTV streams (i watch the news along side my CCTV)

It has an advanced video analytics version and can stream remotely to IE browser and even real time hi-def video/audio to windows media player. The neat thing is that it has a really cool interface, you can break out windows and drag them to other monitors and stuff.

Compatible with XP and Vista. You can see a video of it on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/user/securicorp

Let me know what you think of it. Google for BiKal IP

Based on the postings in this group, I tried each application's demo software listed. I must give an unequivocal thumbs to Blue Iris software. It worked perfectly with my Toshiba IK-Wb15A cameras. It also creates movies, has a video web server and webcam support.

My only problem has been with Vista's security and configuring the security access.
