Have an Axis Network Cam running for a few years now at a distant remote location, sending images via FTP to a web site. First year it would stop working every few months. A reset of the cable modem would bring it back so I was looking for a way to somehow toggle the cable modem power remotely. Simple solution was just to put the modem on an inexpensive 24 hour timer which does the reboot each night whether it's needed or not. Problem solved.
