Hello,
first of all I would like to say how excited I am about this Milestone Forum. The software is great and now that we have a place to share our knowledge and concerns I am sure we can help improve Milestone's software.

I have installed some cameras in a day care, connected to Milestone XProtect Pro. The system works great and the daycare workers are happy.
The next step will be parents logging into the daycare's website and view the cameras. Is there a way to do this without the parents having to install any software or ActiveX components?

Thank you,

Martin

The remote client requires the use of ActiveX controls for review of live and recorded images, but it may be possible to build your own custom .NET powered application to show camera images on your website. This would require Enterprise, and the Milestone SDK (the SDK can only be acquired after signing an NDA)

Why not simply build on the cameras ability to send images to a web page. Most IP enabled cameras can push images using a bit of code offered by the hardware vendor. Axis for example has several samples in their support pages.

Once you setup pages the way you want them all you will need is access control which can be done using CGI, java, php etc.

Pango Security, Hi Martin, if you have the time , download our 15 day trial version. You can upload direct to any website from any camera on Visec. Email if you need any assistance., Regards,
Gary

Hi,

The i-Catcher Console CCTV software does not require ActiveX controls or any other software installing. The web view just requires a JavaScript-enabled web browser (all modern browsers do this).

It does help to have Java installed, but its not essential, the web view works fine without it.

You can check out i-Catcher at http://www.icode.co.uk/icatcher
