Is there a cost effective DVR that will do 4 cameras, with features to record on motion detection, limit the time of recording.?
Maybe other value added features like alarms to pC or email, stuff like that? I would only view via 1 of 4 pcs in my house and not need or want a montior.

Hoping for a least cost solution to have 2- 3 outdoor day/night IR cameras to
view the front and back of my home. Something that I can view from my computer which is the house via my IP network. One of the cameras should be able to view about 50' at night. I suppose Ive asked enough to know that this will be a DVR based solution with analog camera.
Where is a good online store to start to figure out what I can buy to do this?

Thanks for the tips!

Well, a person doesn't always want the hassle and "non-reliability" of a PC-Based system.
Have a look at these two products:
AVerDigi EB1304NET
AVerDigi EB1704Hybrid

After looking at the specs I have to agree the AverDiGI would be the way to go after you have had a chance to read some reviews and customer feedback.

If they work as advertised, and i have no reason to think they would not, the plug and play plus the very low price compared to a PC-DVR card setup is a no brainer. I wish I had known about these before I went the PC-DVR card route.

Believe me when I say that AverDigi products work.
I've seen advertising on this forum and don't know if it is allowed, but if so... then I would be allowed to say that we are sole AverDigi distributor in Sub-Saharan Africa.
I'm in the R&D and product procurement side of things here, and I test all products thoroughly and AVerDigi really stands out above many other competitors in the field. Even there PC-Based systems
