I have a Veo observer ip netcam, and have a problem with uploading pictures from the cam to a ftp server, virgin media (ex telewest). The cam will make any directory I create in the motion detect settings page, on the ftp server but there is no files uploaded. I installed Active webcam from py software, which can create a web page and upload to the ftp server and it works. I can also view the camera using my external ip address, although i haven't set up DDNS, could this be the problem apart from changing ip's?

Ok this is really doing my head in, as they say. Installed a ftp server on a LAN computer, set up options in the camera ftp to point to local machine, and it works. i get snapshots from the camera.
BUT here's the problem in the ftp options you specify an upload path, e.g. \ipcam\capture\ , the camera can make these directory's, on the remote server. Then it also wants to make two other directorys in the upload folder called 12_31_1969, and 1_1_1970. the first one 12_31_1969 is used to upload a sample snapshot. The second one 1_1_1970 is used to upload motion detected pictures. While this works well on a local ftp, i still cant get it to make the directory's in the blueyonder ftp site, i have tried manually making the numbered directory's, and setting the permissions to read write for all but it still wont up load the jpg files to the server.
Has anyone got any ideas
