Hi All,
I love the picture of my new panasonic ws-nv202a, unfortunately nobody else seems to be able to see it too.
I have the camera connected to my westell327w router and all is working internally but nobody from the outside can see the picture. They get the controls and all that but no picture, so far happens to 3 people. Just black middle screen. I did IP pass trough, I did port forwarding opened tcp and udp, shutdown the firewall in the router still only a black screen. Anybody has any idee?
Thanks

Ok, Update, got the camera now streaming on the net too. The problem is mpeg-4, it is not able to stream to the net correctly. Streaming as jpeg works.
I was with techies on the line for a few hours yesterday (holding time included).
First of course they said it is not there problem, service provider is blocking ports.Service provider said no we are not blocking any ports, it's the camera.
Then of course (panasonic) it's the lousy modem router combo but finally called he called a technician and that one came up with that jpeg works but mpeg-4 not.
He also gave me a good one,
He said that the camera is a professional surveillance camera not meant to be used as a webcam!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rolling Eyes
Hello, somewhere he missed that the world moved on and people are capable now to go to a library or any other computer to see directly what's going on at your house, especially for a camera over $900.-.
I don't think the people from panasonic agree with him since they want to sell more of there cameras. But then maybe I am wrong and they really want to sell to "experts" only. Smile As for the camera picture itself, it is excellent in daytime which is to expect from a camera in this price range but it really starts shinning at night. Once enabling SDIII and the enhancement on Auto for 32x you really appreciate the picture. At night in the dark (11pm) looking at the screen you think it is probably 5 or 6pm and the sun is just below the horizon. Then you look out the window and realize it is actually really dark with 1 street light on (on my street). The picture is just great. Now I have to run some wire (Cat5, power) between my walls to get them out of the house and up to the roof where my television antenna on a pol is, run the wire up the pole and mount the camera up there, about 20feet above the roof and I should have a real good look at my neighborhood.
Laughing
Is there anybody else in this forum with the same camera?

You can get MPEG-4 to stream over the Internet but the key is that the person trying to view the camera remotely must allow the incoming port number of your stream. For example, on the NS202a if you go the the Camera Setup and then look under the MPEG-4 setup area you will see an option label Transmission type. If you change that from Unicast Port (AUTO) to Unicast Port (Manual) and leave the Unicast port1(Image) at 32004 then this means that your MPEG4 video stream will stream outbound from your home on port 32004. Your ISP should block outbound ports. Now, on the receiving side, like if I wanted to view your video stream at my house, I would have to go into my router and make sure I have port 32004 port forwarded to my PC's IP address. It does work.

timw88 thanks,
next time I will try this with a friend of mine. I actually gave up on it for the moment because they where "eating" my bandwith in jpeg, mpeg4 reduces the bandwith but I think it still is to much.
My connection for me goes to a crawl whenever somebody else connected. For the moment I kicked them all out. Very Happy
Thanks again
Roger
