Got my Canon VB-C50ir working lol, but I think it was working all the time.
I could never get it to work over the internet, so I thought something was wrong but after a month of trying every port number I asked a friend to look at the URL and he said it was working fine.
I still cant see the cam over the internet on my PC but I know its working.

probably.. youre a telefonica user with a comtrend wireless router.
currently Im trying to redirect the ports for an axis camera conected to a ct-5361 router from telefonica. When im doing an external port scan, it indicated that the port is open, but when I try to acces the camera with the ip address and port number, it refuses. alltough i havent tested from an external source.

The cam is getting 500+ hits a day

You have to set the port forwarding up in your router.
Your router will have a default ip address so you can adjust the settings, look on your router box or for the make and model on the internet.
I had to get a dedicated IP address from my ISP that Im paying extra for but I think that you can do it with DNS.
What camera have you got?
